51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ’s School of Languages and Literature held its welcome back lunch Friday, August 27th. The event was hosted by the faculty from L&L in Gates Hall 208. Dr. Karen Beth Strovas is the Associate Dean of the School.
“We have been missing our students all summer,” Strovas said, “so a Welcome Back Taco Bar seemed like a great opportunity to gather with our majors and minors for fellowship and to get acquainted or reacquainted.”
The meal was provided potluck style by the Languages and Literature faculty who each brought a dish for everyone to share. Many students showed up to partake and share in the community, making new friends and reuniting with old friends.
“The food was delicious, and the fellowship was refreshing,” Strovas said. “We socially distanced to stay safe, but it was nice to be in the same room again.”
The School of Languages and Literature will be hosting many events over the semester, including Way-Con, a convention that will be held on October 30th.
“Anyone who wants to know more about our programs in the School of Languages and Literature is invited,” Strovas said.
