Graphic Design students at 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ shared their work at the 7th Biannual Graphic Design Showcase! Each semester, design students have the opportunity to share their work with the WBU community. The purpose of this exhibit is to show the incredible talent that 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ has here on campus. Sixty-nine works by seventeen student artists are currently on display in the School of Creative Arts north hallway.
Many of the displayed students are seniors and are looking to enter the Graphic Design field upon graduation. Dejan Mraovic, assistant professor of Graphic Design, is thrilled to allow WBUGD students to display a series of art pieces this year.
“They got published and exhibited internationally,” Mraovic said.
One of the many graphic design students, Allyson Vinson, reached out to the Ambassador of Iraq to learn more about Iraq’s cultural heritage. She expressed her modern recreation of their cultural architecture in one of her projects.
“I encouraged her to write a letter to the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Washington and they were able to connect her with the Ambassador of Iraq,” Mraovic said.
After visiting the showcase and admiring the work, it is clear that these students have worked hard, creating their very own craftmanship.
“I deeply believe in freedom, when you give someone freedom, that’s when the ideas come,” Mraovic said.
Those ideas are ready for viewing by the public. Each display has a common theme and is organized with a purpose. From colorful illusions to interesting viewpoints, this exhibit reveals the talent in our students.
