Inventory Control Specialist

LOCATION: 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Baptist University (WBU) – Plainview Campus

SUPERVISED BY: Director of the Pioneer Store 

POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt 

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None.  

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Inventory Control Specialist audits and assists with the operations of all areas of the merchandise and online orders. 

SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES: 

  1. Maintain Pioneer Store website with products and correct quantities.
  2. Receives in shipments of merchandise from multiple vendors.
  3. Schedule includes occasional Saturday and evening work times
  4. Counting and maintaining inventory in inventory control system.
  5. Correspondence with vendors.
  6. Oversee all merchandise and inventory.
  7. Assist at front counter as needed.
  8. Answer store phone as needed.
  9. Assist Textbook Assistant Manager and Gift Store Assistant Manager on maintaining any and all inventory.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience and Knowledge:

  1. One (1) year successful experience in an office setting showing a degree of administrative responsibility

Skills and Abilities:

  1. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  2. Utilize excellent organizational skills
  3. Be computer competent with knowledge with the following programs Word, Excel.
  4. Display professional appearance, punctuality, dependability, integrity, honesty, and loyalty in the performance of the position
  5. Able to respond, in a timely and effective manner to assignments
  6. Demonstrate success in responding to emergency situations and working with other professional staff to restore essential services in a timely manner
  7. Show professional and friendly conduct with administrators, students, faculty, staff, vendors, and the general public
  8. Be a positive force in the store by portraying a positive attitude toward other personnel, in phone conversations, and customer service
  9. Must have a commitment to Christian higher education and agreement with the purposes and philosophy of Christian higher education as promoted by the Baptist General Convention of Texas in general and 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Baptist University in particular

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance.   If hired, the prospective employee must present documentation within three (3) days of hire date to establish their identity and employment eligibility as required by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).  Employee must be able and willing to travel and teach at external campuses.  Must be able to operate a licensed motor vehicle, have access to a dependable motor vehicle, and possess a valid state driver’s license.  Must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record.
