LOCATION: 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Baptist University (WBU) – Hawaii Campus – American Samoa 

SUPERVISED BY: Executive Director/Campus Dean 

POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Exempt (Administrative) 

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: American Samoa Academic Advisor 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Site Director oversees all aspects of the academic and fiscal operations related to the WBU sites and teaching locations in American Samoa, to provide smooth coordination of academic affairs for students, staff, and faculty. 

SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES:

Marketing and Promotion:

  1. Plan and organize Education Fairs and marketing efforts for WBU and general education on the reserve base and within the community.
  2. Rotate and refresh bulletin boards each term and according to seasons.
  3. Maintain brochure racks.
  4. Promote WBU programs to new and inquiring students. 

 Administration:

  1. Oversees management of all processes associated with the campus.
  2. Maintain strong relationships with teaching site POCs and American Samoa stakeholders.
  3. Assure proper care and operation of classroom equipment regularly.
  4. Maintain proper running and functioning of site office and equipment.
  5. Develop quarterly class matrix (college schedule of classes).
  6. Responsible for coordination between American Samoa campuses and Hawaii campus.
  7. Assist professors with class coordination/office needs.

 Advising:

  1. Primary graduate and doctoral advisor.
  2. Oversee building of degree plans for each new student.
  3. Advise WBU students and maintain proper and scanned records (distant & face to face students).
  4. Oversee processing of FA documents.
  5. Oversee all requisite processes associated with VA benefit use.
  6. Oversee processing of TA documentation and payments.
  7. Follow up with students who have not taken classes for a season.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Master’s Degree required, Doctoral Degree is preferred.

Experience and Knowledge:

Two (2) years of proven leadership & management experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  1. Excellent oral, written, analytical and interpersonal communication skills
  2. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  3. Independent problem solving, self-direction, and strong time management skills
  4. Skilled with word processing, spreadsheet, databases, and PowerPoint
  5. Must be able to build and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  6. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  7. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information and situations with tact, professionalism and diplomacy

Work Environment: The work environment for this position is a standard office setting. Employees will work primarily at a desk or workstation, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.  The office maintains a controlled temperature.  Noise levels are generally moderate, with typical office sounds such as conversations and office machinery. 

Hours of Work: Plainview campus - Although full-time, nonexempt Plainview employees are normally scheduled to work 37.75 hours per week, the official work week for full-time salaried employees is forty (40) hours. External campuses - Although full-time, nonexempt external campus employees are normally scheduled to work 37.75 hours per week, the official work week for full-time salaried employees is forty (40) hours. Normal work days on all campuses are Monday through Friday

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently stand and walk;
  • Frequently flex upper trunk forward while sitting or standing;
  • Frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds;
  • Frequently carry up to 10 pounds and occasionally carry up to 25 pounds;
  • Occasionally push or pull objects;
  • Occasionally flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially flex at the knees;
  • Frequently reach at or below should height, and occasionally reach above shoulder height

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance.
