Political Science

Focused on Western political practices, the political science major introduces students to studies over the Constitution, the presidency, civil rights, civil liberties, political behavior, and national, state, and local government.

When studying for this degree, political science majors take 31 hours in field specific courses, 25 of which must fall into the upper-level division. Students will take courses that help them fulfill their academic goals, such as Comparative Politics and State and Local Government.

After completing the program, students will be prepared for graduate school, law school, or for a political career, including sub-fields like law enforcement (FBI), government service, and public administration.
