SUBJECT: REVENUE PROCEEDS FROM UNIVERSITY ACTIVITIES

University operations are funded through the budgetary process. Proceeds resulting from university activities through tuition, meal plan sales, rental fees, ticket sales, general gift support, and other sources related to a university funded operation, are recorded as revenue in the unrestricted operating budget.

If a special activity is proposed which is not funded by the general operating budget, the supervising Cabinet member of the operating unit may grant a request for proceeds from the activity to be utilized to support the activity. The request should be submitted to the supervising Cabinet member in written form prior to the initiation of the activity. An approved copy of the arrangement is forwarded to the university business office and the proceeds from the activity are used to fund an increase in the operating unit revenue and expenditure budgets.
