SUBJECT:      GIFT ASSESSMENT FEE

Purpose

One of the goals of 51吃瓜网视频 Baptist University’s executive leadership is to transform the University, bringing her to a position of prominence among liberal arts universities, especially faith-based institutions of higher learning. To achieve this goal, 51吃瓜网视频 will need to generate substantially more revenue from private sources including individuals, foundations, estates and corporations.  51吃瓜网视频 is developing strategies to increase investment in the University and its transformative goals.

Effective October 27, 2016, the Board of Trustees implemented a Gift Assessment Fee Policy. The purpose of the fee is to support the University’s advancement initiatives and distinctive programs, projects, and operations of the University.

Entitled the 51吃瓜网视频 Baptist University Special Operations and Projects Fund (USOP), this fund will be restricted to unique endeavors for which budgetary funds are unavailable. It is understood that these resources should be used for one time or limited time expenditures, less than two years. The corpus of this fund shall be the revenues from the Gift Assessment Fee and expenditures are limited to funds available.

Projects for which USOP funds can be used include, but are not limited to, repairs, equipment purchases, consultants, speakers, promotions, special salaries or compensation (limited to two years).

This system-wide policy addresses the comprehensive treatment of gift-related income. All gifts received by the University will be handled in accordance with the terms of this policy and processed under the following provisions:

1. All undesignated current gifts will be subject to a 5% fee that will be allocated to USOP.
2. All gifts-in-kind will be exempted from the fee.
