Policy and Procedures Manual
Classification Number: 9.2.4
Revised: August 14, 2017
SUBJECT: RECEIPT AND RECORDING OF GRADES RECEIVED AT OTHER INSTITUTIONS
Only information transmitted in the form of an official transcript from an accredited institution will be considered in respect to receipt and recording of transfer credit and/or admissions evaluation.
A transcript is considered official if it is received directly from the issuing institution. A hand-carried document will be considered official if it is in a sealed institution envelope with a school seal, stamp, or signature on the back of the envelope.
Should a grade or mark be necessary for graduation, telephoned information from the registrar of the granting institution can be noted and used to permit participation in the ceremony; however, the degree will not be conferred, nor will the diploma be awarded, until the appropriate, official transcripted data are received and recorded.
Plainview Campus students - To be included in a given graduation Plainview students must submit all transfer credit from other institutions by the application deadline.
External Campus Students - Transfer and assessed credit is due and all incompletes must be removed six weeks prior to graduation.
See policy 9.2.3, Awarding Transfer Credit, concerning acceptability of courses.
