51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ closes Plainview campus, delays start at Lubbock campus

PLAINVIEW, TX — More than a foot of snow in Plainview has prompted 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Baptist University officials to close that campus Monday.

Classes at 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ’s Lubbock campus will have a late start Monday. Only the Plainview campus is closed.

“Due to inclement weather, dangerous roadways and increasingly cold temperatures, the 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Plainview campus will be closed tomorrow, Monday, Feb. 12,” said Dr. Claude Lusk, Senior Vice President of Operations and 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ in an alert sent to students, faculty, and staff.

Lusk said Plainview campus employees will work from their homes, with the senior vice president calling on workers to “coordinate with their supervisors and work remotely as directed.”

“Face-to-face class faculty members should communicate their expectations with students through Blackboard and email for any online assignments,” Lusk said. “Students should all check Blackboard for any class instructions for the day.”
