PLAINVIEW — 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Baptist University is encouraging high school seniors and prospective college students to submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which officially opened Thursday, Nov. 21, as soon as possible to maximize opportunities for federal, state, and institutional financial aid.
After a challenging rollout last year, the U.S. Department of Education has implemented fixes to streamline the FAFSA process. “This year’s FAFSA form has undergone rigorous testing and is now fully operational, making it easier for students to access the financial aid they need to pursue higher education,” Miguel Cardona, U.S. Secretary of Education, told the Associated Press.
Daniel Brown, Vice President for Enrollment Management at 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Baptist University, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of early submission.
“The FAFSA is a critical tool in helping students achieve their educational goals,” Brown said. “At 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ, we are committed to supporting students and families in navigating the financial aid process. By completing the FAFSA now, students can unlock aid opportunities that make a college education both accessible and affordable.”
The FAFSA form, which is required for determining eligibility for federal financial aid, is also used by colleges to award additional scholarships and grants. According to the U.S. Department of Education, more than 140,000 students have already submitted the form, allowing their information has been shared with thousands of colleges.

Our team is ready to assist students with completing the FAFSA and exploring additional funding options to help them succeed academically.”
