PLAINVIEW — 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Baptist University congratulates senior David Snellgrove on being named Plainview Chamber of Commerce’s Student of the Month for February, recognizing his academic excellence, leadership, and dedication.
“David exemplifies the heart of a 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Pioneer—academic merit, integrity, and a commitment to his calling,” said Dr. Donna Hedgepath, President of the university.
A political science major with a minor in business administration, Snellgrove maintains a 4.0 GPA and is on track to graduate in May 2025. He transferred to 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ from South Plains College in the fall of 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ and has since distinguished himself as a scholar and leader within the university community. After graduation, he plans to pursue a legal career and is currently applying to law schools for the Fall 2025 term.
“We are incredibly proud of his achievements and know he will continue to make a profound impact as he pursues a career in law,” Dr. Hedgepath said.
Snellgrove expressed surprise at receiving the honor, reflecting on the ways 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ has shaped his academic and personal growth.
“The Lord has blessed me in multiple ways through my time at WBU,” he said. “During my first semester here, my family went through a dramatic and unexpected change, and the 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ faculty and staff, especially one professor, helped me draw closer to Jesus by simply being there and listening to me. Additionally, my classmates and professors have pushed me to a higher standard, connected me with the right people, and helped solidify my calling to the legal field.”
Snellgrove also credited his time at 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ for personal growth, noting that the friendships he has built have helped him emerge from his introverted shell and grow.
“As I round out my time at 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ, I am reminded of the lifelong friends I have made and how they have drawn me closer to the Lord,” he said.
Snellgrove is the son of Brad and Julie Snellgrove of Plainview.
