“This is an important opportunity for community members, school district personnel, and families to come together, engage in meaningful discussions, and learn how we can all support strong schools and strong communities,” said Dr. Sarah H. Hartman, dean of the Don A. Williams School of Education.
Dodson joined Raise Your Hand Texas in 2019 after a 28-year career in education, serving as a teacher, administrator, and professor in K-12 and higher education. Her work has focused on blended learning strategies, student achievement, and leadership development, helping to bridge policy and practice for the benefit of Texas students. Raise Your Hand Texas, which works to advance public education through advocacy and policy initiatives, is supported by the Charles Butt Foundation.
“Raise Your Hand Texas is committed to ensuring Texas children have access to a high-quality education,” Dodson said. “Through advocacy and policy work, we seek to bring communities together to support schools, teachers, and, most importantly, students.”
