POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt (Part-Time)

POSITION LONGEVITY: This is a one term or session position and continued employment for this position is not guaranteed.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: An Adjunct Instructor works under the supervision of the School Dean and/or Executive Director/Campus Dean. As a part-time instructor at WBU, he/she represents the University’s academic and spiritual emphases to the students, faculty, staff, and community in a manner consistent with the University’s mission and purpose.
SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES:
- Prepare and teach one 1-credit, 2-credit, 3-credit, or 4-credit course.
- Submit census data/attendance, grades, and other required academic documentation as requested.
- Be or become proficient in the use of the University’s adopted learning management system.
- Assist in promoting the academic programs and be involved with community activities.
- Attend scheduled department meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A completed 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Baptist University application for employment with statement consistent with WBU’s Christian mission.
Education:
- Master’s Degree required in area of instruction or any master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in area of instruction.
- Terminal Degree is required for Graduate courses and preferred for Undergraduate
Experience and Knowledge:
- Recent high school or University teaching experience preferred.
- Endorsement by the School Dean and/or Executive Director/Campus Dean and the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency with computer software and educational projection equipment.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance. If hired, the prospective employee must present documentation within three (3) days of hire date to establish their identity and employment eligibility as required by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Employee must be able and willing to travel and teach at campus indicated. Must be able to operate a licensed motor vehicle, have access to a dependable motor vehicle, and possess a valid state driver’s license. Must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record.
