Academic School Scholarships
Scholarships with a variety of eligibility requirements are available through the each of our eight Academic Schools. Students must complete the the for full consideration of all scholarship opportunities in each Academic School. Awards are made on the basis of student eligibility, financial need, and the availability of funding according to earnings on endowed investments restricted by donors and designated gifts to the university.
In addition to the FAFSA, you will be required to complete the and/or meet other requirements (e.g., audition) for scholarship consideration by each Academic School:
- School of Behavioral & Social Sciences
- School of Business
- School of Christian Studies
- School of Creative Arts
- School of Education
- School of Languages & Literature
- School of Math & Science
- School of Nursing (San Antonio campus)
All students who have been awarded an scholarship(s) through an Academic School are required to maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 (or 1.85 for students who have completed fewer than 30 credit hours) and remain full-time unless scholarship criteria states otherwise. Exception will be made for students in their last term at 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ, who do not require full-time enrollment to meet completion requirements for their degree. Other exceptions (e.g., disability) will be considered on a case by case basis and requests should be directed to the Office of Financial Aid. Academic School scholarships are generally renewed from year to year but are subject to availability of funding.
Combination of all scholarships will be held to tuition costs with the exception of contractual agreement (e.g. athletics) or where the awarding entity (department or donor) specifies that an endowed scholarship may exceed tuition. In the event an exception is made for an endowed to exceed tuition, the awarding entity must provide justification for their decision.
Thank You Notes
If you have been awarded a scholarship(s) that requires you to write a thank you note to the donor. Please contact Amber McCloud at amber.mccloud@wbu.edu with the name(s) of your scholarship(s). Amber will provide donor information related to your scholarship(s) and instructions for the content of your letter. Failure to complete the thank you note could result in the loss of the scholarship.
