Media Arts Revamp
The Department of Media Arts, housed within the School of Creative Arts, is seeking to raise support to revamp both its curriculum and equipment related to various degrees to enhance both student learning and preparation for viable careers in an ever-changing media world.
The entire goal of this program is to produce students who are ready to tackle the challenges of the media arena on several fronts and can move successfully into a variety of jobs. Our main objectives are for our Media Arts students to:
- Specialize in multimedia production and broadcasting, communication studies, graphic design,
or music production. - Study professional communication, writing and editing for multiple platforms, general marketing, social media marketing, computer graphic basics, film and visual media basics, and ethics and entrepreneurship.
- Complete formal internships and field experiences embedded within their courses, hold campus jobs in their field, and enter the profession with extensive hands-on experience leading to deep understanding of their discipline.
