HOCO ’25 features lots of activities starting Feb. 5

PLAINVIEW — 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Baptist University is gearing up for an exciting Homecoming 2025, set for Feb. 5-8 on the Plainview campus.

Alumni, students, and the community are invited to take part in a variety of events, including a special Homecoming Chapel service featuring worship leader Jon Mark Hester of Regeneration Ministries and an alumni praise team as well as the prestigious Blue and Gold Awards Banquet.

“Homecoming is always a special time for the 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ family, and we are excited to welcome alumni back to campus for a weekend filled with nostalgia, fellowship, and school spirit,” said Jeffrey Vera, Director of Alumni Relations and Career Services. “Whether it’s reconnecting with old friends, attending a game, or celebrating our distinguished alumni, there is something for everyone.”

The four-day celebration kicks off Wednesday, Feb. 5, with a Military Alumni Reunion via Zoom, providing an opportunity for veterans and active service members to connect from anywhere in the world. That evening, alumni, students and the community are invited to a special 80s-themed movie night at The Fair in downtown Plainview, featuring a screening of “Top Gun.”

Thursday, Feb. 6, includes time to tour the Mabee Regional Heritage Center and the Malouf Abraham Family Art Gallery. The Mabee includes Jimmy Dean Museum, Flying Queens Museum, and Museum of the Llano Estacado.

That evening, fans can cheer on the Flying Queens and Pioneers as they take on conference rivals in basketball games at Hutcherson Center. Attendees can also enjoy photo booths and purchase apparel at a pop-up shop from the Pioneer Store.

Friday, Feb 7, features a variety of activities, including coffee and registration in Harral Auditorium, class reunions, a Pioneers baseball game and the highly anticipated Homecoming Chapel service with Jon Mark Hester.

“Chapel is always a highlight of Homecoming, and we are thrilled to have Jon Mark Hester leading worship with his team of alumni musicians this year,” Vera added.

Friday, Feb. 7, concludes with the Blue and Gold Awards Banquet, honoring distinguished alumni and student leaders.

On Saturday, Feb. 8, the celebrations continue with an alumni coffee mixer at Broadway Brew, more baseball and basketball games, and the presentation of the Homecoming King and Queen during halftime. A new tradition, the awarding of the coveted “Spirit Stick” to either students or alumni, will debut this year.

“We hope everyone will come home to 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ for this special event,” Vera said. “There’s no better time to celebrate our rich history and bright future together that at HOCO ’25."
