Part-Time Student Accounts Advisor

LOCATION: 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Baptist University – Arizona Campus: Phoenix 

SUPERVISED BY: Phoenix Site Coordinator 

POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt; Part Time 

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Student Accounts Advisor serves the business office functions of the Phoenix sites and supports the Student Accounts Manager for the Arizona Campus. Processes student account receivables, tuition assistance, veterans’ assistance, and financial aid. Takes payment and monitors aging accounts. Assists with planning graduations. 

SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES: 

  1. Provide accurate and timely assistance to students regarding accounts.
  2. Provide accurate and timely information to Campus Student Accounts Manager, Phoenix Site Coordinator, Executive Director/Campus Dean, and Main Campus when required.
  3. Assists with accounts payable.
  4. Receive payments, and properly record information into the WBU databases.
  5. Provides biweekly and monthly reports to appropriate personnel.
  6. Assist in annual audit of student accounts.
  7. Support students in understanding and applying for funding (TA, VA, FA).
  8. Assist Student Accounts Manager in processing Tuition Assistance, FAFSA files, scholarships, VA certifications, and employer reimbursements.
  9. Take incoming phone calls tactfully and courteously.
  10. Assist the Site Coordinator and the office staff to meet the needs of the site.
  11. Travel may be required as determined by the Dean or Site Coordinator.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Certification and License:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred.

Experience and Knowledge:

  1. Knowledge of how to apply Christian principles in the workplace is required.
  2. One (1) year of office-related experience is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  1. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  2. An in-depth understanding of, and commitment to, the “team” and “servant leadership” concepts are essential to advancing the Arizona Campus mission.
  3. Excellent computer skills are required.
  4. Must be an excellent manager of time.
  5. Must have no delinquent or defaulted Student Loans. A credit check may be conducted to ensure the requirement is met.

 Physical Demands:

  • Frequently stand and walk;
  • Frequently flex upper trunk forward while sitting or standing;
  • Frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds;
  • Frequently carry up to 10 pounds and occasionally carry up to 25 pounds;
  • Occasionally push or pull objects;
  • Occasionally flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially flex at the knees;
  • Frequently reach at or below should height, and occasionally reach above shoulder height

 CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance.   If hired, the prospective employee must present documentation within three (3) days of hire date to establish their identity and employment eligibility as required by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).  Employee must be able and willing to travel.  Must be able to operate a licensed motor vehicle and possess a valid state driver’s license or have access to reliable transportation.  Must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record.
