Student Email Accounts

All student, faculty and staff be advised. 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Baptist University will require Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) for users to access their 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Email and Office 365 accounts. This change will go into effect on June 23, 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ. After June 30, accounts will no longer be able to login without setting up MFA. This change is to comply with federal regulations and reduce risk.
As of June 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ, you will be prompted to turn on MFA when first logging into or any Microsoft product connected to your 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ account.
Additionally, you can set up MFA with Office 365 installed on your computer:
- Close all Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, Access)
- Open Microsoft Word.
- From the Home Screen, click on "Account" Bottom Left.
- From the Account Screen, click on Sign Out.
- Click on Sign In to Microsoft Office and follow the on screen instructions to enable MFA.

Setting up a new 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ email

Your new email address will usually be your "firstname.lastname@wayland.wbu.edu".
You will need to type your user name is your entire email address.
Your temporary password should have already been sent to you from IT. If you have not received your temporary password, and it does not match the pattern described in the printable PDF instructions, please contact the University’s IT Help Desk.
After logging in with your temporary password, you will be required to change your password to something else that you can remember.

Find your email in Blackboard
On your My Blackboard Dashboard, find the student email link near the bottom of the page.

Get the Outlook App
Access your email from your phone with the Microsoft Outlook app.
Download the app from iOS, or Google Play app store.
Add account, and enter your student email address.
Use your password to log in, and access your email on the go!
