POSITIONS SUPERVISED: All Campus Staff
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Campus Dean assists the Campus Dean in planning for facilities, equipment, and materials necessary to support WBU courses at the campus, military bases, business sites and church locations. Cultivates positive communications and relations with the local churches, organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders. Assist in accomplishment of the initial screenings and assessments related to degree plans for degrees offered at the campus. Recruits, screens, conduct orientations and supervises staff.
SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES:
- Coordinates activities with the Executive Director/Dean.
- Determines related staffing requirements, interviews and makes recommendations for hiring.
- Administers related staff development activities to include recommendations to the Executive Director/Dean for personnel disciplinary action and possible termination when appropriate
- Recommends related annual budget to the Executive Director/Dean.
- Establishes and implements the unit’s policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with the Executive Director/Dean, advisory committee members, organization officials, and staff members as necessary.
- Supervises related staff, prepares schedules and assigns specific duties.
- Builds relationships with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, corporations and other external sources.
- Helps develop and maintain the University's corporate image and identity.
- Addresses community groups, faculty, and staff members to explain available services.
- Enforces all administration policies and rules governing students and aassists with development and implementation of policies and procedures designed to ensure that the campus and University fulfills the mission.
- Reviews financial statements, activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing program improvement.
- Assists the Executive Director/Dean in leading, planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling the operation of the campus.
- Supervises training and evaluation of staff and faculty.
- Coordinates enrollment coaches and enrollment person in the registration operations.
- Develops, plans, implements and evaluates class schedules.
- Coordinates orientation and training for new staff and faculty.
- Procures, maintains and controls facilities, equipment, keys and other materials.
- Assists in planning and implementation of commencement activities.
- Liaison with the Plainview Campus administration.
- Responds to and executes all military requests for information.
- Assists in planning, implementing and controlling all non-WBU activities at the campus.
- Assists in compliance with all state, local and federal laws.
- Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Master’s degree
- Doctorate degree or post masters work highly desired.
Experience and Knowledge:
- Experience in a university administration setting, preferably student services or registrar’s office – university level classroom teaching experience a plus.
- A deep commitment to Christian Higher Education and agreement with the purposes and philosophy of higher education as promoted by the Baptist General Convention of Texas in general and WBU in particular.
- An understanding of and commitment to work with educational programs related to churches, businesses, industries, and the military.
- Experience in the area of executive leadership and management and supervising staff.
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, situational leadership strategies, production methods, and coordination and empowerment of people and resources.
- Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests.
- The ability to communicate effectively.
- Proven ability in the classroom as a capable and effective instructor
- Must possess good computer application skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
- Must be willing and able to develop a working knowledge of the University’s various computer systems.
- Must be detail-oriented and have good organizational skills.
- Ability to be flexible, prioritize and available to work extended hours as needed.
- Ability to follow directions and work cooperatively with others.
- Service orientation – actively looks for ways to help people and solve their problems.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance. Employee must be able to work as a team player, work indoors and in an environmentally controlled office area with florescent lighting, and on occasion work outdoors, be exact and accurate, pay very close attention to detail, and have transportation to and from work. The qualified applicant must be able to work flexible hours as needed. If hired, the prospective employee must present documentation within three (3) days of hire date to establish their identity and employment eligibility as required by Immigration and Naturalization Services. Some travel required. Must be able to operate a licensed motor vehicle, have access to a dependable motor vehicle, and possess a valid state driver’s license. Must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record. The candidate for employment will be subject to a background check and may be requested to take a drug test.
