All Steinway School

51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Baptist University receives accreditation through the National Association of Schools of Music since 2003. Also, since 2015, 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ’s Department of Music has the distinction of an All-Steinway School, one of fewer than 200 in the nation.

Students in the Department of Music receive excellent tutelage from experienced, renowned faculty in each discipline. For example, Dr. Kuhnert, a vocal performance specialist and the director of opera and musical theatre, has a standing role in TEXAS, the regionally renowned musical that is performed in Palo Duro Canyon each summer. Also, Dr. Fountain, assistant professor of collaborative piano, has been a soloist with the Marion Philharmonic Orchestra, the UNL Symphony Orchestra, and he performed Liszt's Totentanz with Lincoln's Symphony Orchestra in Lincoln, NE during the 2008-2009 season. These are the types of professors students will work with on a daily basis in the Department of Music.

Professors hold high goals for standards of achievement and performance for their students in this highly recognized undergraduate program.

Practice

Students are welcome to use one of the many upstairs practice rooms during their time with 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ's Department of Music. No reservation times are required; students may come and go as they need.

Furthermore, the Department of Music retains a practice room for piano music majors and minors to enjoy, housing an upright Steinway piano.

Performance

Vocal students are welcome to join a number of vocal ensembles, including the International Choir, 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Singers and Praise Ensemble.
