LOCATION: 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Baptist University (WBU) – Hawaii Campus - Kapolei

POSITIONS SUPERVISED BY:  WBU HI/AS Adjunct Instructors 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Faculty Coordinator is a leadership position and member of the Hawaii campus Strategic Leadership Committee that assists with the recruiting/hiring process for new adjunct instructors, including interviews. Adjunct instructors’ classroom management and teaching methodology training, monitoring of adjunct instructors’ performance, reviewing students’ course evaluations, training in Blackboard Ultra platform. 

SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES:  

  1. Update and maintain adjunct instructors’ EFQ’s records
  2. Create F2F class schedules and assigning courses to classrooms locations
  3. Process adjunct instructor teaching agreements
  4. Process adjunct instructor pay-authorizations
  5. Schedule adjunct instructor’s periodic meetings, distribute adjuncts’ updated handbook,
  6. Syllabus review, approval, and uploading to 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ website
  7. Assist with Incompletes/Change of Grades
  8. Inputting courses into Power Campus
  9. Monitor end-of-term final grade submissions
  10. Evaluates and determines low-enrollment course cancellations
  11. Maintain the Hawaii Campus bank operating account
  12. Training and maintaining course design in the university’s online teaching platform
  13. Create and distribute Dean’s and President’s academic award certificates for Fall and Spring terms

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Master’s Degree Required, doctoral degree preferred.

Experience and Knowledge:

Two (2) years of general office experience.

  1. Teaching experience preferred

  2. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  3. Independent problem solving, self-direction, and strong time management skills
  4. Skilled with word processing, spreadsheet, databases, and PowerPoint
  5. Must be able to build and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  6. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  7. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information and situations with tact, professionalism and diplomacy

Work Environment: The work environment for this position is a standard office setting. Employees will work primarily at a desk or workstation, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.  The office maintains a controlled temperature.  Noise levels are generally moderate, with typical office sounds such as conversations and office machinery. 

Hours of Work: Plainview campus - Although full-time, nonexempt Plainview employees are normally scheduled to work 37.75 hours per week, the official work week for full-time salaried employees is forty (40) hours. External campuses - Although full-time, nonexempt external campus employees are normally scheduled to work 37.75 hours per week, the official work week for full-time salaried employees is forty (40) hours. Normal work days on all campuses are Monday through Friday

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently stand and walk;
  • Frequently flex upper trunk forward while sitting or standing;
  • Frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds;
  • Frequently carry up to 10 pounds and occasionally carry up to 25 pounds;
  • Occasionally push or pull objects;
  • Occasionally flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially flex at the knees;
  • Frequently reach at or below should height, and occasionally reach above shoulder height

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance. If hired, the prospective employee must present documentation within three (3) business days of hire date to establish their identity and employment eligibility as required by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
